Meaking Meanings Act Iii

a. Artemidorus fails when asking Caesar to read his “schedule”, because he told Caesar that what he was going to read would benefit him. At the same time, Decius wanted Caesar to read Trebonius’sletter because it was a humble petition. Caesar decides to read the petition, instead of the schedule because what benefits him, he would put it last.

c. Because he fears Antony would affect people by the way he says the oration. Brutus tries to calm Cassius by telling him that he would stand in the platform, and explain first thereasons of Caesar’s death.

f. The plebeians where in search of the conspirators to kill them. They first found Cinna thepoet and they interrogate him by asking his name, where he lived, where he was going, if he was married or a bachelor. Cinna, wisely answer their questions but the plebeians were in seek of revenge anddecided to attack him.




1. The funeral speech more close to my thoughts about Caesar’s death was Brutus one, because I had always think that Caesar was an ambitious man.

2. His deepsadness indicates he wants to revenge Caesar’s death by creating a rebellion, putting in his side the plebeians. With this speech we could foreshadow that Antony will triumph in his rebellion.

3.He manipulated the Roman mob by indirectly contradicting Brutus and emphasizing on Caesar’s actions.

4. Other characters had characterized Antony by fearing him because they doubt his actionsbecause he was truly loyal to Caesar. I agree them in giving Antony a personality because without doubt he is a huge enemy.
