1. INTRODUCTION Mexico is also called the United MexicanStates. It is located in the southern part of North America, bordered to the north by the United States, to the southeast with Belize and Guatemala, to the east by the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea and west by the Pacific Ocean. It has an area of nearly 2 million km ². Today its population is around 112 million people. Most people have Spanish as their mother language, which the staterecognizes as a national language beside 63 indigenous languages. Taking into account the percentage of people, Mexico is the largest number of Spanish speakers in the world. Human presence has been in Mexico for 30 thousand years, and after thousands of years of cultural development, appeared in the territory the cultures: mesoamericana, aridoamericana and oasisamericana. Until the sixteenth century,Mexico was inhabited by various peoples of different advanced cultures along its entire territory. You can highlight the Olmec, Teotihuacan, Maya, or Toltec culture among others (kinds of these three cultures named before). When the Spanish arrived in the sixteenth century (Hernan Cortes in the lead), Mexico was made up of different peoples who had no awareness of the country. After the conquest of300, was being a country with common characteristics. Later, in the early nineteenth century, begins the period of wars of Independence led by Miguel Hidalgo. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the revolution began, which paved the political, legal and social aspects of Mexico today. There was a period of calm, but after several economic and political crisis, the latter fails, the countryis evolving and moving forward. Mexico is one of the 10 most visited countries in the world and the main tourist destination in Latin America as published by the World Tourism Organization. Mexico has the second most powerful economy in Latin America, surpassed only by Brazil, and the fourth of the continent, being the fourteenth world economy measured based on net volume of gross domestic product(GDP). However, this wealth is unevenly distributed, having countries with a Human Development Index similar to that developed countries such as Germany or as poor as burundi. In addition, Mexico has a great diversity in climate, and that is considered one of the 12 mega-diverse countries in the world, hosting over 12 thousand species of endemic and be home 10-12% of global biodiversity.Politically, Mexico is a democratic, representative and composed of 32 federal states, Mexico City being the seat of government, whose territory has been designated as a federal district.

2. GEOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS. Mexico is in the South American continent. It is bordered on the north by the United States and on the southeast by Guatemala and Belize. It has 11,122 km of coastline divided into twodifferent areas: on the west, the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of

California, and on the east, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, as part of the Atlantic Ocean basin.The land area is 1,964,375 km ².
