THE PLACE WHERE I LIVE : LA CAROLINA.
I live in La Carolina, a small town in Jaen which is a city in the south of Spain. It has a
Population about 16000 people. It ‘s known like´´City of the new populations in Sierra
Morena´´ and it’s also known as ´´Door of Andalucia´´ because it’s the natural communication
between Castilla and Andalucia. Andalucia is the biggestregion of Spain. La Carolina was
founded by Carlos III in 1767 with German settlers. In the nineteenth and twentieth
centuries it was an important mining and industrial town. Ithad lead mines. Currently it
is over all and industrial place but it’s in crisis.
La Carolina is a beautiful city although many people don’t know it. It’s famous inparticular for its urban desing with straight and paralled streets. They are great for to
walk around and in the city centre. It’s also known because there are important naturalparks such as ´´Despeñaperros Park´´ or ´´Sierra Morena`` where you can do hiking or
hunting ( you can hunt deer, wild pig, rabbits or partridges) . In this place there areprotected animals species such as vultures, golden eagles or lynxes. Here there are also
natural places where you can learn and practice fly fishing. It’s very important for the
livestockof bulls. In La Carolina there are important monument such as ´´The Intendente
Olavide Palace´´, ´´The Towers of Fundation ´´ or ´´The monument of The Battle of Navas de
Tolosa``. Herethere is also ´´The Archaeological and The mining museum´ recently
inaugurated . This city has different services like bars, restaurants, markets, sports
installations, shops, asports centre, a music school, a language school etc.
The weather ,here is Mediterranean climate. The winter isn’t very cold with irregular
Rainfall but the summer is very hot....
