ABSTRACT: I had always had, from my early childhood, a crescent interest for the care of nature and environment. As the years passed and I got to understand more things about the relationship between natural resources and the modern life’s style, something caught my attention: the energy used in every kind of process, from natural to artificial, product of humans inventions. And then a questionwas formulated: from where comes all that energy for all the processes of our inventions? And then another: how does that affects our world? After being asked those questions, I realized how important it is for humanity to compromise in the next decades to change to renewable energies in order to stop the abusive use of fossil fuels, because they are not going to last very much and because of thethreat that supposes Global Warming.
Then, I had the opportunity of travelling to Denver, Colorado, U.S.A., to assist to the “International Biomass Conference & Expo”. There, I got shocked by the alternatives this source of “green-energy” offers and by one idea that came to me: my country, Argentina, has a very big potential in every aspect of the biomass… And then I formulated the Question intopic of this investigation project: Is the Argentina potentially able to replace and satisfy its energetic matrix dependent of fossil fuels, by the use of the biomass as source of energy? “Yes, Argentina is able” I thought, posing that way my Hypothesis.
I based the Theoretical Framework in defining and classifying biomass and the different variables in which it can be used. Also providing andcomparing facts about national, international and global energetic matrixes and analyzing facts of evidence of the potential in Argentina.
For the Field Research I interviewed three professionals and connoisseurs in the topic, asking them varied questions about energetic matrixes, potentials, opportunities and treats, experiences and opinions. Then I made a synopsis of every interview in orderto get to a Conclusion.
Finally, I discovered that the full replacement of the fossil fuels in use is something incredibly hard to do, not only because it depends a lot in the politics of Estate and the economic model (in what I did not deepen), but also because of the gigantic amounts in use. Argentina does not haves the resources for being able to completely replace the fossil fuels used in theenergetic matrix. But in the other hand, I found that I was right affirming that the Argentina has a very big potential in biomass, and with a proper development of this renewable technologies, a great percentage of fossil fuels can be gradually replaced.

INTRODUCCIÓN: Mi proyecto estará basado en un análisis de datos sobre la posible potencia que la Argentina podría utilizar en los distintosmétodos de generación de energía con las distintas biomasas. Se profundizará sobre cada uno de estos métodos y su posibilidad de desarrollarse en nuestro país. Se harán entrevistas a profesionales en el asunto (el target será a ambientalistas, ingenieros, agrónomos, empresarios, entre otros profesionales relacionados con los temas a tratar), con el objetivo de desarrollar una conclusión conrespecto a la viabilidad de la hipótesis, basándose en el posible potencial en biomasa de Argentina.
Aclaración: la investigación no se sumergirá en las capacidades de la Argentina con respecto a sus políticas de estado y a su modelo económico, las cuales ambas deberían modificarse en algún punto para cumplir con las expectativas del proyecto presente; éste se enfocará en la factibilidad delproyecto y en el potencial que tiene la Argentina en cuestiones de energía mediante biomasa.

PREGUNTA: ¿Es la Argentina potencialmente capaz de remplazar y satisfacer su matriz energética dependiente de combustibles fósiles mediante el uso de la biomasa como fuente de energía?

HIPÓTESIS: La Argentina posee los recursos naturales para ser potencialmente capaz de remplazar a los combustibles...
