Mr. Boggis





Mr. Boggis was a dealer in antique furniture, he was a talented salesman, he always bought cheap furniture and sold it very expensive, and he managed to make a good income eachyear, so he acting in different ways with each person he could become grave and charming for the aged, obsequious for the rich, sober for the godly, masterful for the weak, mischievous for thewidow, arch and saucy for the spinster. Some people said that Mr. Boggis nobody could overcome knowledge of French, English and Italian furniture in London.
Mr. Boggis was admired by his friends for hisability to produce unusual and often quite rare items with astonishing regularity.
Mr. Boggis travelled for nine years through all the counties of London in search of antique furniture, he had agood taste and he loved the work of the great English designers of the eighteenth century, his trick began when by going to visit her mother one Sunday he had an inconvenient with his car, he approacheda house to ask for water for the car and saw antique chairs for which he was interested then convinced the owner to sell him the chairs, since then Mr. Boggis had the idea of posing as a parson andin this way get of antique furniture, from now on, every Sunday, he was going to be a nice old parson, he was received with kindness in every house that he went.
Mr. Boggis went to a house InOxford, he foresaw that this would be a great day, but when he entered the house found nothing of interest there, without wasting more time he thanked and he went looked of another house.
The next farmMr. Boggis will visit was at the bottom of a field, as he approached he saw that he was not very hopeful about this, on the farm where there three men, after his speech to convince them to enter thehouse, he found an antique commode, he said to the men who sell it, but he was interested only legs, so they agreed and Mr. Boggis bought only legs.
In this manner Mr. Boggis got all antique furniture.
