Ahora, entre ellos había un pobre niño pastorcillo. Su nombre era Benjamín, y cuando él vio la estrella también quiso ir a ver este maravilloso acontecimiento. “Un niño… unRey?” Se cuestionaba Benjamín. “Si el es el Cristo del que tanto profetizaban, el Señor” dijo uno de los pastores. “Oh, tengo que ir a verlo!” Exclamo el niño y se fue con los pastores.
Cuando ellosllegaron ya había varios reunidos alrededor y le estaban dando regalos, algunos oro, otros mirra y otro incienso. Los regalos fueron hermosamente presentados y se veían muy caros. Mientras observaba a lagente reuniéndose alrededor del niño recordó lo que su padre le enseño tiempo atrás y se maravillo de como Dios había enviado a su único Hijo aquí al mundo para darnos la salvación. Benjamín queríadesesperadamente honrarle, pero no tenía ningún regalo caro para ofrecer. “Que hare ahora?” pensaba en sí mismo. Benjamín se sentía un poco triste y reflexionaba sobre estas cosas en su corazón, pero amedida que bajaba la cabeza, vio el pequeño tambor que colgaba de su cuello (comienza a tocar el tambor) “Ya se” dijo con emoción, “ voy a tocar mi tambor para él y a cantar un villancico, si cantarepara Él, el Villancico de los Tambores!”.
