Outline
Introduction:
Do any of you know which is the biggest fish in the world?.Acording to National Geographic thewhale shark is the largest with an average size of 30 feet. Good Morning my name is Marc Berenguer and today I am going to talk about this amazing creature, the whale shark.
Body: the whale shark,like I said is the biggest fish, making him also the biggest shark. A lot of people may think that it is a whale because of its name but its not even though it has a lot of similarities.
Size:Whale sharks are know for their size. They can reach up to 50 feet but the average size of the whale shark is 30feet. Usually the females are larger than males like most of the other sharks.
Teeth:Sharks are know for their pointy and sharp teeth but not this one. Although, it has 3000 teeth they are very tiny and they are of little use. The whale sharks dont use their teeth to obtain food, theyare filter feeders. They swallow water and separate the nutrients and little fish that they find.
Diet
Whale sharks swim with their huge mouth open and suck tons of water that contain planktonand small fish. Whale sharks can process over 1500 gallons of water each hour.
Location
This special diet makes them habit warm waters from australia to mexico. We can find them along thecoast or in open seas. They are also know for spend time near the surface.
Swimming
While they swim near the surface they filter water so they swim at their own pace and in a very calm way. Acordingto discovery channel they dont go faster than 3 mph. Whale sharks swim just moving their entire body not just their tail.
Shark attacks
This way of swimming makes them friendly and harmless.They are usually indifferent to divers
