This is a famous phrase by Jhonny Ball is a British television personality
Good morning my name is David Terán Garza and I am going to talk aboutageism best known as AGE DISCRIMINATION
Ageism is best described in the internet as a process of systematic stereotyping of, and discrimination against people’ simply because they are older. When a Mexican employee lost his job he should had have no problem getting another job. His resume was outstanding : eight years of experience , fluency in three languages and hard to getU.S travelers visa plus air travel vas booming in Mexico. There was only one problem he was 37 and people over 35 need not apply.
Nobody cares how you look like, fat , skinny , long hairshort hair , young , old , doesn’t matter , countries have laws against discrimination but imagine a job that reads something like this . Height 1.80 m to 1.90 , Weight 80 to 95 kilograms, must have good presentation.
Welcome to Mexico where discrimination based on age and looks is not just acceptable but standard not only tolerated but expected.
Believe it, or not,job seekers are reporting age discrimination beginning as early as the mid-thirties. By the time you reach your forties, you can be considered washed up in some industries.
By 2018, thenumber of employees around the world over 55 will reach 39 million, compared to 27 million in 2008.
Most studies of ageist attitudes tend to focus on its negative aspects. However, ageismcan also have a positive perspective for example, a positive view perceives an association between aging and greater wisdom, patience, and an enhanced appreciation of life's benefits.
