Pat Mora, a great Hispanic poetry writer has won many awards on her books and poetry. She has the Kellogg National Leadership fellowships award, the national endowment for the Arts award, thesouthwest book awards, and the Aztlán literature Awards.

Mora was born El Paso Texas, January 19th, 1942. She writes on many topics such as poetry, children’s books, and nonfiction writing. She taughtin the university of New Mexico as an distinguished visiting professor. Mora also was a museum director and consultant for US-Mexico youth exchanges. She’s received two degrees. She got a BA fromTexas Western College in 1963 and got an MA from the University of Texas, El Paso in 1967.

Mora’s more popular books include My Own True Name (1984-1999), Aunt Carmen’s book of Practical Saints(1997), and Auga Santa (1995). She is now retired and lives peacefully in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Pat is a native of El Paso. Her family descended here during the Mexicanrevolution. She spends most of her time writing and traveling to schools and other events to teach young writers. She has started to settle down around the Santa Fe, New Mexico and Cincinnati, Ohio. Shenow travels around there inspiring young writers and every once in a while traveling to other schools in the US teaching them about writing to.

4. Cause and effect:
Cause.- a reason for an action or condition. Effect.- power to bring about a result.

5. Summarization: a short account outlining themost important points.

6. Inference: the act of passing from one proposition, statement, or judgment considered as true to another whose truth is believed to follow from that of the former.
