The most important program to me is the Andover/Lawrence Strings program that I have participated in since I was eight. This program is held at Phillips Academy Andover and once a week we go to Phillips Andover and learn cello, violin or piano. Eversince the third grade I have learned cello and I've fallen in love with it ever since. I love the way music makes me feel. Not only does it help me express myself and my emotions, but it allows me to meet great people, and make new friends. I love my cello, and all the pieces I can play. Music and the arts (visual, musical, or performing) are definitely going to play a large role in my journeythrough Central Catholic. My favorite part of music is the history of all the talented people that help develop and create instruments. and all the talented people that are a part of it. This has really been important to me and my favorite program. It has taught me dedication, to practice hard and to truly learn what I love to do which is play cello (and other musical instruments as well). I am sodedicated to music that at your school I'd be try to learn other instruments, such as oboe, and viola. In conclusion, music, Andover/Lawrence Strings program is the most important activity to me, because it allows me to participate in the activity I love, which is playing music, and make great friends while doing it.

Discuss two reasons why you want to attend Central Catholic High School.

Thefirst and foremost reason I want to go to Central Catholic is the sense of community. Everyone knows each other and is familiar with every person in their grade or class. It helps create a really close knit community in which everyone one is there to help each other and are there for each other outside of school. You can truly find a friend or friends to help you through your journey at thisschool. The second thing that attracts me to this school is the spirit and pride people carry around, almost like a badge of honor. I've been to a few of your games everyone truly has pride in being a raider. I noticed that when I first went to one of their games. Everyone was boisterous, dressed in red, had red face paint and cheering on their fellow raiders. I love how everyone is truly excited to beat school and to be there with each other.

Since part of Central Catholic's mission is to serve others, particularly the "least favored," our students complete community service as part of their graduation requirements. How do you see yourself getting involved in the community and giving back to those in need?

I see myself hopefully working at food drives and volunteering at places likeMSPCA, or soup kitchens. Everyone believes that they have problems, r that they need help, but when you look around you can clearly see that there are people that need a lot more than you. When I do community service I feel like I've not only helped that person or that organization, but myself as well. I believe that if we want to create a more giving and generous society, we have to start early toteach kids and young adults the values of giving and doing for the good of others. I'd see myself tutoring students or cleaning up parks. I want to truly make a difference in the city of Lawrence and help my fellow citizens.

Look at your iPod or favorite CD. What song have you played the most during the past six months? What does this communicate about your life and how you will be a member ofthe Central Catholic community?

The most played song on my iPod is "Intermezzo from Goyescas by Enrique Granados" performed by Jacqueline du Pré. I've played cello since I was eight and I love classical music. This music communicates greatly with my life and really shows how I will grow as a raider. It has very low and high notes, symbolizing the ups and downs I've had in my life and it also...
