Budget Information: Theorganization has allocated $500,000 for this project. The majority of this project will be internal labor. More funds are available to pay expert consultants for advice, and purchase equipment and relatedmaterials as needed.

Project Objectives: The project plan developed as a result of this charter will provide an extensive report, includingdetailed financial analysis and recommendations on what green computing technologies to implement. Official project request forms for recommended solutions would also be created as part of the project. Thisis the first charter for the project, and the objective is complete this project in six months. The project manager will not only manage the project, but will also do some research, writing, editing,and the like required to produce the desired results. The main purpose of the Green Computing Research Project is to research possible applications of green computing technologies including “DataCenter and overall energy efficiency”, “the disposal of electronic waste and recycling”, “Telecommuting”, “Virtualization of Server resources”, “Thin client solutions”, “Use of open source software” andthe development of new software to address green computing for internal use and potential sale to other organizations.
Project Success Criteria: With a budget of 500,000 and within six months toprovide an extensive report, including detailed financial analysis and recommendations on what green computing technologies to implement. The project sponsor has authorized the five workers to workvirtually on the project since they are located from different parts of the world.
