Pursuit of happiness
As the movie progresses, one day, Chris meets a manager from a stock firm who has inspiredhim to get a job as stockbroker. With hope, he applied for an internship at the firm but later he finds out that the company only accepts 20 apprentices, who will have to compete for that one positionthat is offered once every six months. As determined as Chris is, he tries to make a first good impression to Witter Resource, the head of Jay Twistle. He wanted to impress him with his knowledge andhis charisma but was turned down several times. With his persistency he managed to share a taxi with Twistle and impressed him by solving a Rubik´s cube.
Later on that day, Chris was called to aninterview for the next day. Unfortunately, on the same night, he was arrested for his unpaid parking tickets. Therefore on the day of the interview, he was dressed inappropriately nevertheless with hishonesty, determination and confidence he was able to explain the situation accordingly. They offered him a position, but he was not too impress because there weren’t a secure guaranteed job after theinternship. Although feeling underrated and unappreciated, Chris never gave up. He knew what he had to do to get the job: call and get as many clients as possible for the company, study and pass theexam with a perfect score. He had a very tight schedule daily but was persistent and did the best he could everyday within a 6 hours time slot when other participants had 9.
