Key Accountabilities
To welcome patrons, check tickets and provide directions as required.
To provide information and assistance to patrons, including those with disabilities or other specialneeds.
To ensure that Health and Safety regulations are complied with, maintaining exit routes and
ensuring that exit doors remain unobstructed.
To address any safety hazards which may arise byreferring them to the Duty Manager or Catering
Manager.
To sell programmes, merchandise and ice-creams as required and to comply with cash handling
procedures.
To provide a friendly and efficient barservice at Town Hall or Symphony Hall as required, and to
comply with relevant cash handling procedures.
To maintain the cleanliness of catering areas in co mpliance with Health & Safety and FoodSafety
Regulations.
To understand the importance of Data Protection when dealing with credit card payments.
To fully comply with all requirements of the Premises Licence and the Licensing Act 2003.
Toprovide catering services at Receptions, corporate events and other hospitality functions.
To change posters and ensure all promotional material in leaflet racks is up to date.
To address issuesconcerning any unsafe or anti-social behaviour, and to ensure that venue policies
are adhered to by means of information and reasonable requests, escalating problems to the
Catering Manager, DoorSupervisor or Duty Manager as required.
To remain vigilant and observe the audience during the performance, to ensure their safety,
well-being and comfort.
To assist with medical and other emergencies,directing patrons as required in the event of an
evacuation.
Duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time and the post holder will be expected to
perform other such duties at eithervenue that are reasonably comparable.
Skills and Experience
Experience of providing customer service to the public.
Awareness of Health and Safety issues.
Excellent communication skills.
