Exotic Peacock two colors

This quaint two-color peacock, shows us that in nature there are unusual combinations, beautiful and fantastic.

The quetzal lives in the cloud forests.
They arecalled cloud forests because they are high in the mountains, while almost always covered with fog at dawn and dusk.
Therefore, the forest is wet, cold and rains a lot.
Cloud forests are like islands ontop of the mountains. And below the surrounding tropical forests or pine. In Mexico there are several sites of cloud forests, but only in Chiapas live quetzal.
Just as you have a family and you arelike your brothers and cousins, the Quetzal has his family, and is called the trogons, which are birds similar, but not equal.

The quetzal eats insects, but what are his favorite fruit, as many of the animals that live in the cloud forest, making trees like laurel and blueberry. Butabove all, the tepeaguacate, a wild avocado tree.
When they are hungry, quetzals stand on a lower branch where the tepeaguacates, and then launch up to starting a flight, then return to the samebranch and released by another tepeaguacate. They do so until no longer hungry, and returned to the forest. is difficult for a quetzal left to see. As is almost always silent.
When the pair has formed,they build their nest.
They choose an old log and rotten because its peak is not very strong. And, in turn, the male and female dig a hole. Sometimes you just enlarge the abandoned nest of othertrogon or a woodpecker. If you find a nest last year used by other quetzals, cleaned a little and stay there.
The female usually lays two eggs quetzal, which are light blue.
Then the hatch for 17 days.The female at night and noon, and the male morning and evening.
If left unprotected quetzal nest, animals like squirrels, toucans, mountain weasels or old, take the opportunity to eat the eggs.
