Extensive research by Gallup has discovered 12 statements that are be the most powerful predictors of employee engagement.

The teams withhighest engagement scores had:

increased sales growth
increased productivity
increased customer satisfaction
fewer accidents
lower staff turnover
less staffabsenteeism

Each question is rated on a scale of 1 - 5

(1= strongly disagree, 2 = disagree, 3 = neutral / no opinion, 4 = agree, 5 = strongly agree)

At work, I have the opportunity to do what I do best every day.
In the last seven days, I have received recognition or praise fordoing good work.

Research shows, it is the employee’s immediate manager who is the critical playerin building an engaged, productive workplace – not pay, benefits, conditions, or even charismatic leadership

The best thing the business leader can do create a great company is to hold each linemanager accountable for what their employees say to each of these 12 statements.
