I picked this topic because I like skateboarding. I like it because it is something that Ican do and it inspires me. I like watch it on TV. One day I want to be a professional skateboarding athlete and participate in the X Games. I wish that I could make it to the big leagues.
Thehistory of skateboarding comes from the 1950. The first real skateboards were like scooters, but with four wheels. In the 1950 the people started to get the hang of skateboarding and realized that theycould do it in the water and that was when surfboarding was invented. By the ending of the 1950 the trucks were modified and people can actually ride them easier. In the 1950 trucks were a metal openedtube that held the wheels. By the 1950 skateboarding was even more popular because Larry Stevenson invented the kick tail. Later on they had new wheels, skateboards and trucks. The speed and the controlthat the skateboards had were incredible. In the middle of the 1970 like in 1975 people emptied their pools and started to ride and do tricks inside them.

In 1981 Danny Way was born. Danny Way isone of the most dedicated skaters in the world. His father liked to skate and Danny Way loved to watch his father do it. He started to ride a skateboard when he was 6 and started to do competitionswhen he was 8. In 1993 he won his first X Games competition and again in 2001.

In the 1980, the Element and the Flip brand were created. They were created by John Logan Watson. He also started tobuild a giant pool, but was not for swimming but for skating. When he created the two brands he approximately won 5,000 dollars. Later on, he did the first 720 kick flip and land it.
In this Essay, Iwas able to talk about skateboard brands, skating pools, tricks and about the famous people that do this sport. I like this sport because I can do it with my friends. I also have a skateboard....
