Latin American Countries have struggled for the last decades a constant conflict on the political and economic ideas that have leaded them into internal wars as they all searchfor the best economic system that can solve the problems of wealth distribution and that can provide all the citizens the basic needs to survive.
The different conceptions on wealth have leaded toeconomic theories change over time, and each one very different of the other one. Adam Smith detected on the economic system of the XVIII century an important mistake of the notion of wealth, finding amisconception on what people thought of the value of money, thus he thought a system as capitalism would rule the world and work as the best and only economic system that could work. As time haspassed, new theories have emerged and new thinkers have found solutions on the problem of wealth distribution and economic systems. Karl Marx found out that the societies of Europe had a huge capitalaccumulation, but very large differences between “rich and poor” people, making a critic on the capitalistic basis, and proposing a new system in which there was an equal distribution of wealth. Theobjective of this essay is to find the main differences of the most important economic systems of the world.
In order to identify the differences of the economic systems it is important to say thatCommunism and Socialism are ideological with many similarities. It is little complicated to differentiate these two doctrines. Socialism generally refers to an economic system and communism means to both aneconomic and a political system.
In the other hand, Capitalism is an economic and political system based on the principle of individual rights. It believes that it is inequality that will drive thepeople to be more innovative and productive. Clearly the development of capitalism was not revolutionary like that of communism or socialism.
