SPANISH CONSTITUTION: ORIGINS
The constitutional history of Spain dates back to the Constitution of 1812. The actual Constitution dates from 1978, ageneral election in 1977 convened the Constituent Cortes for the purposes approving the Constitution. The constitution was approved by the Cortes Generales on October 31, 1978 and by the Spanish peoplein a referendum. 88% of voters supported the new constitution.

SPANISH CONSTITUTION: TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION
The Constitution provides for a territorial organization based on the autonomy ofmunicipalities, provinces and autonomous regions. the Autonomous Communities have autonomy of a political nature that sets to Spain as a regional state. Local entities such as Municipalities andProvinces, enjoy a range of administrative nature.

The King is the Head of State. a figure who plays eminently symbolic functions and has no effective power of decision.Juan Carlos 1

SPANISH CONSTITUTION: DIVISION OF POWER
The division of powers is the linchpin of the political system. There are 3 powers:
Legislative Power

Judicial power

Composed by Congress Deputies and Senate Congress Deputies: responsiblefor the inauguration of the Prime Minister, and his eventual retirement in the motionof censure or vote of confidence. Senate: have a task of political control over the government through parliamentary questions and questioning.

SPANISH CONSTITUTION: executive powerThe Government, whose President is invested by the Congress of Deputiesheads executive power. Government members are appointed by the President, and with it, form the council of Ministers.
