Before using your new traffic light kit, please make sure to read
this instruction manual in order to avoid anymalfunctions or
misuse. Please keep this manual for future reference.

This traffic light kit is ideal for electronic students or hobbyists because it
allows them to develop creativity in the programming of this prototype of
a mechanical system.
This kit includes all the components necessary for building this
prototype.
Your new traffic light kit allows you to program different functions andapplications for a stop light.
In the “Manual ABC de la Mecatrónica” you will find different examples
the programming of a stop light including arrow signal, a tw stop light
crossing, and a low demand stop light.

When you install the integrated circuit, pay attention to the
numbering of the pins paying special attention to the #1 pin.

For the LED’s, the short end represents the negative. Be careful
when installing.

Before beginning the assembly of this kit, it is necessary to have a
pencil type soldering iron and soldering solution. Adult Supervision is
recommended during assembly
1. Place the resistances in their respective positions (R1-R7). Solder
the terminals on their underside and cut off theexcess metal.
2. Place the integrated circuit in its respective position (U1). Check the
pin position and solder the terminals on their underside and cut off the
excess metal.
3. Place the micro switch in its respective positions (S1). Solder the
terminals on their underside and cut off the excess metal.
4. Place the DB9 connectors in their respective positions (J1-J2).
Solder theterminals on their underside and cut off the excess metal.
5. Place the LED’s in their respective positions (D1-D7). Verify the
order of colors for a stop light.
6. Solder the power cables in their respective positions (BT1). The
power input voltage is 5 volts.

INSTALLATION

1. Never connect the traffic ligth kit K-410 to the computer if the traffic
ligth kit K-410 isconnected to the power source.
2. Make sure the traffic ligth kit K-410 is powered off.
3. Once the traffic ligth kit K-410 is connected, make sure its
supported by a non-conducive surface and that this surface is free of
any elements that may cause a short circuit in the PCB circuit.
4. Make sure that the power cables are well connected and that the
power source is correct at 5 regulatedvolts.
