RICE WITH TOMATO SAUCE
1 / 2 kg of minced meat
4 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 large onion, grated
1 cup crushed rice
1 / 2 teaspoon baking soda
Salt
pepperand cumin


Preparation
Mix the garlic, onion, meat, salt and a pinch of pepper, cumin and parsley, knead well.
Pound in a mortar. Mix with rice and re-crushing, wet hands with oil or water toform fingers and fry.
Prepare tomato sauce and place the fried meat. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
Serve hot with a dish of fried rice.
For tomato sauce: Crush the garlic and fry in a tablespoon ofoil to have a golden color. Add 1 / 2 kg of crushed tomato, salt and spices. Let simmer 20 minutes.

Rice History
Rice is part of a group of 19 species of annual grasses grass family, althoughit is common rice (Oryza sativa), the only important species for human consumption.
Some historians believe that rice is native to Southeast Asia and is cultivated for more than 7 000 years. Thereare evidences of cultivation, before the year 5000 BC in eastern China, and before the year 6000 BC a cave in northern Thailand.
The nationality of rice is as controversial as its history. Scholars,believe that rice is native to southern Asia, it grows wild in India, Indochina and China. While it is true that many varieties in these areas develop spontaneously from very ancient times, someresearchers say the grain originated in Africa and then moved to Asia. A third hypothesis states that emerged in the two continents at once. The indisputable to all is that this is one of the oldest foodsof mankind.
