Find out about the customs in another country or Colombia. You are going to make a list of DOs and DON’Ts about social behavior like the ones in the extract above. If you investigate about another country, imagine that you are going to givethe information to a friend or relative who is traveling there. Writing about Social Customs in Colombia

How much have they changed over the last 25 years?

Pre-writing

Assignment: Write a compare-contrast essay about how social customs have changed in Colombia in the past twenty-five years. The idea with such a text is for you to compare what social customs arenow, and what they used to be 25 years ago. Expand your knowledge about the customs at that time by interviewing people older than you, like your parents or relatives, and using any other source (Magazines, books, the internet). Use quotations and / or ideas from the interview. Your teacher will check those ideas out in your essay. When using information from other sources, use quotation marks tointroduce ideas mentioned in them.
