Entre los tipos de escritos más comunes podemos mencionar los siguientes:
1. Informativo: como su nombre lo indica, es un tipo de texto cuya finalidad es la de informar, ya sea explicando o simplemente comunicando un hecho. Aunque el lenguaje que se usa para escribirlos puede variar, generalmente se trata de textos de fácil lectura escritos en un lenguaje semiformal.
2. Científicos: son todosaquellos textos que se enmarcan dentro de una comunidad científica. Por lo tanto, son frecuentemente el resultado de alguna investigación. En ellos se suelen presentar resultados, dar explicaciones, describir fenómenos o hechos, así como discusiones respecto a conceptos o perspectivas científicas. 3. Administrativos: el contenido de este tipo de textos se enfoca principalmente en información o comunicación relacionada con alguna actividad administrativa. Es por ello que su estructura de presentación es muy rígida, además de que usan un lenguaje formal, serio y directo.
4. Jurídicos: son, como su nombre lo dice, textos que se relacionan con algún evento decarácter legal. Por lo tanto, en ellos se pueden presentar distintos temas, siempre y cuando mantengan dicha relación entre ellos podemos mencionar las sentencias, las denuncias o las actas.
5. Textos publicitarios: se trata de textos cuya finalidad es anunciar algo o dar información sobre algún producto o servicio. Suelen ser textos muy amenos, divertidos, y con una gran carga semántica ysimbólica.
6. Ensayos: es un tipo de texto cuya finalidad es presentar información sobre algún hecho o tema. Generalmente se asocian a la actividad intelectual o a disciplinas sociales o humanísticas como la historia, la filosofía o la antropología.
7. Literarios: son textos eminentemente creativos, cuya estructura suele ser libre. Se trata generalmente de textos que hablan sobre algún hecho o evento, yasea real o ficticio, a partir de un uso artístico del lenguaje.
