Dear Ms. Schoen,
My name is Gabriella Carolina Alvarez Montalvo, and yes, I know that's a long name. I am proudly from Peru, bothmy mother and father were from there and I was born there also. In December I traveled for the first time in 13 years back to my birthplace in Peru, and I traveled there again this summer for myquincenera with my best friend Kaylee. Before going to Carondelet I went to Queen of All Saints. This is a very small school, our class had only about 22 classmates, so most of us became like family. Itwas hard leaving QAS and venturing off into high school, where everything seems bigger and scarier, but it's comforting knowing my best friends are in most classes with me and the people I've come tolove were only across the hall or at De La Salle. Friends are very important to me, but just as important or maybe even more important are my family. My mother has 8 brothers and sisters, so although Iam an only child, I am never alone when it comes to family. I am very close to them. I also have a beagle named Princess, who we call Dumbo for her large ears.
My life is very susceptible tochange. I've noticed I am very indecisive and regretful and I’m trying to work on that. As a child I was a ballerina, hip hop dancer, gymnast, and tap dancer. I miss those days so much and I hope to getinto dancing some time soon. I love spending time with my friends and my cousins. I enjoy things like going to the movies, beaches, amusement parks, inside jokes with friends and all nighters withfriends. I love the small things in life, eating chocolate, being hugged, riding high on the swings, and movie nights on cold winter days and the feeling of accomplishing something you've been working atfor a while. I do enjoy writing poetry and have won a few contests in the past. People have always told me I was very friendly and easy to get along with. I do try my best to be nice to people and...
