Tittle: The first forty-nine tales: ‘’The Assassins’’

Plot: The story happens in Henry’s small bar. It begins when two men, Al and Max, enter the barand they sit at the bar. Then, they order something to eat. After this, the two men ask to George, the waiter, and to Sam, the cook, if they know Ole Anderson and if that man always goes to the bar atsix o’clock in the afternoon. George answers that he does and then, Al makes Sam and Nick, a costumer of the bar, go into the kitchen. He ties a towel round their head. He shows them a shotgun and heleaves it on the kitchen window pointing to the main entrance door. Max and Al wait and wait but Ole doesn’t arrive so at ten past seven they decide to leave.
Nick thinks that he must tell this toole, so he goes to Hirsch Mansion where Bell, the housekeeper, opens him the door. Nick explains Ole what has happened, but his friend already knows that want to kill him.
Nick goes back to the barand there , with George and Sam, they wonder what Ole Anderson did.

Characters:
Henry: He is the owner of the bar.
George: He is the waiter of the bar.
Al: He is one of the two assassins. Hewears a hat, coat which is only buttoned until his chest, he wears gloves and a silk scarf. He has a small face and thin lips.
Max: He is the other assassin. He wears gloves and a gabardine.
Nick Adams:A man who is having something in the bar.
Ole Anderson: He is the man to whom Max and Al want to kill.
Sam: He is the cook of the bar and he is black.
Bell: She is Hirsch Mansion housekeeper.Opinion: I think that this small tale is the best of all I have read in this book, ‘’The first forty-nine tales’’. I have liked it because in just of a few pages, the author makes you enter in a smallintrigue world.
A thing which has amazed me is that the little of the tale is ‘’The Assassins’’ and the truth is that when you still haven’t read it, and you only know the tittle, you begin to ask...
