INDEPENDENCE OF GUAYAQUIL
1 Independence of Guayaquil was an independence process which 2 held on October ninth of 1820, whit the 3 purpose of 4 break off thecolonial 5 ties that existed between the territory of the province of Guayaquil and the Spanish Empire, which gave way to the 6 emergence of the Free Province of Guayaquil. This independence marked thebeginning of the Independence War of the 7 Royal Audience of Quito.
The most 8 influential factor for the realization of this Independence was: the 9 Creoles 10 will.
On 9 October 1820 the numberof 11 soldiers in the town of about 1,500 people, which were distributed 12 as follows: 600 soldiers of the 13 battalion "Cuzco Reserve 14 Grenadiers", 500 15 Cavalry 16 Squadron "Daule", 200Battalion of "17 Urban 18 Militia", 200 19 troops of the "20 Artillery 21 Brigades", and 350 soldiers in the seven 22 remaining 23 gunboats on the 24 boardwalk. However, the officers who had 25 joined themovement in favor were Gregorio Escobedo and Hilario Alvarez of Grenadiers, Damian Nájera of the "Artillery Brigade", José Peña Battalion "Urban Militia", and finally the sergeants Vargas and PavónDaule cavalry squadron 26 thus had secured 70% of the soldiers in the 27 square.
28 Therefore, the 29 maneuvers were intended to take the cavalry squadron Daule and 30 hold 31 weapons and explosives fromartillery brigade, 32 overriding 33 both the resilience of the troops that accompanied both Joaquin Magallar, commander of Grenadiers, as Benito Garcia del Barrio, the first head of the Battalion"Reserve Grenadiers".
For the men of the boats that were commanded by Joaquin Villalba would not 34 care, because they were from the previous day outside the port, and had an opportunity to resolve thisissue if it came to a 35 successful revolution. And everything went as planned.
