The Official Residence of “Los Pinos” is the residence of the Mexico President’s, actually Felipe Calderon Hinojosa, it is in the “Bosque de Chapultepec”, andthis house has history. The house is seventy six years old. Also is named “Los Pinos”. The style architecture of the house is French. “Los Pinos” it is located at Colonia San Miguel Chapultepec inDistrito Federal, Mexico.
The first Mexican President to live in “Los Pinos” was Lazaro Cardenas, in nineteen-thirty-four. “Los Pinos” have been habited for other twelve presidents, represent in some ofthese houses and gardens, their personality and government.
In nineteen-thirty-four the President Lazaro Cardenas had to live in the Chapultepec Castle, but he diden’t like, and opened the doors ofChapultepec Castle at general public. The President Cardenas habit the ranch house “La Hormiga”, but he didn’t like the ranch name and change for “Los Pinos”, and planted pines.
The President MiguelAleman Valdes don’t like the old house of “Los Pinos”, built a new big house in nineteen-forty-seven.
The new house “Casa Miguel Aleman” has got three floors, in the Upstairs there are the familyrooms, in the ground floor there are official salons, and in the basement there are rooms for games and parties. The house was planned with a French style and decorated with Mexican furniture style. Buthas been modified by the presidents according to their needs.
The house has been nine presidents have lived in the Casa Miguel Aleman: Miguel Aleman, Adolfo Ruiz Cortines, Adolfo Lopez Mateos, GustavoDiaz Ordaz, Luis Echeverria, Jose Lopez Portillo, Miguel de la Madrid, Carlos Salinas and Ernesto Zedillo.
In the administration of President Vicente Fox decided change this house in offices.Currently President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa works here with his closest staff.
This house has reception, the White Hall, main stairs, Lobby upstairs and dining room for thirty people.
