The Impact Of The Reformation

First of all, the reformation was a reform movement against the Roman Catholic Church. Some People were complaining that priest and bishops were not religiousanymore, others said that the pope was to involved in political aspects and specially, some people thought that the church was growing to rich just because it didn’t had to pay taxes. In 1517 a priestcalled Martin Luther posted 95 things that the church was doing wrong (complaints), in history this event is called the 95 thesis. Martin was excommunicated and was called a heretic, but thanks to theprinting press (a resent invention) his ideas spread all around Europe: a new important period of time that will marked the future had began.

The impact of the reformation was very important eitherin a positive and a negative way. One religious change that this impact made was a split in the church: those who protested against the Roman Catholic Church became known as protestants, thoseprotestants that followed Luther ideas were known as Lutherans as well as Calvinists (referring to another reformation leader called john Calvin). This is a positive change because new religions began to riseand with it new points of view and new diversity. Protestants and Lutherans still exist in this times,this means that it is a continuity. Also, other religious/economical/political change was thecomplete separation between the state and the church, this is a positive change because is not good that the church take part in political and economical issues, the church just must be in charged inreligion things. This is continuity because in this day the church is mainly in charged in its own business.

Another very important religious/economical/ change because of the impact of theReformation was that the church lost a lot of power. This is positive because the church was gaining a lot of power and was becoming very wealthy in a corrupt manner; this means the church was selling...
