It divided towards New York with 2.227 persons on board, and one of the reasons of the high number ofvictims was that, in spite of expiring with all the maritime regulations of the epoch, the ship only was taking lifeboats for 1.178 persons, and nonetheless only 705 were saved. A high number of men dieddue to the protocol of rescue that followed in the process of evacuation of the ship, acquaintance as " women and children first ".
The Titanic was designed using some of the most advanced availabletechnologies in that time, such as hermetic bulkheads that were dividing the hull in 17 independent sections and that one believed that they could support it afloat in case of break of a part of thehull; it was provided with telegraphy, a new design of propeller of three spades and other noses they did not have comparison to the facilities of the first class as for luxury it refers. All this didthat the Titanic was considered to be "unsinkable". The lifeboats were located in 2 groups, one towards the prow and other one towards the stern
In the front part 12 boats were situated, 6 to everyside: 2 of wood for rescue (núms. 1 and 2. Capacity of 40 persons c/u), 4 folding Engelhardt (To, B, C and D. Capacity of 47 persons c/u) and 6 of wood (3 to every side. Capacity of 65 persons c/u)....
