1.- Explain the social familiar cultural context where the characters in the film are set

The film is developed in an old medium class typical American neighbourhood where recently most of thecitizens are Japanese immigrant people. It is difficult living together for the only one typical American still there and the new Japanese immigrant community

2.- How would you define WaltKowalski'sprofile? And Thao's and Sue's? Which are their Values?

Walt Kowalski is a widow man who lives with the only company of his dog. He has a selfish Son who doesn't really look after him. Walt Kowalskiis lonely man with a clear bad temper, he is a kind of old fashion man full of prejudices towards the existing new social style.

Thao is Kowalski's neighbour, who lives in a big family. He is areally shy child always trying to avoid any problem around.

Sue is Thao's sister. She is a brave , kind and open mind girl who is always looking after her own family.

3.- What makes Walt change?What does he discover?

What made Walt change was the relationship with Thao and his family. With them, he could discover many values about the Japanese culture, understanding their customs muchbetter. He realized that they were good people, not as different as he thought before.

4.- How do different people (F.Janovich,Sue, Thao) accompany him in his way to change?

Thao and Sue and theirfamily helped Walt Kowalski to have a more open mind about different cultures and realities. F.Janovich is a priest who is always trying to help Walt despite his frequent negatives because his wifeasked him for doing so before dying.

5.- Did the end surprise you? What makes Walt take that decision? What does he get with it?

Yes, the end surprised me very much because, knowing thecharacter of Walt Kowalsky I thought he was finally going to kill Thao's cousin band, instead of it he took the risk of being attacked and finally died.
