Valentine’s Day in Denmark
In Denmark and Norway, Valentine's Day (14 Feb) is known as Valentinsdag. It is not celebrated to a large extent, but is largely imported from American culture, and some people take time to eat a romantic dinner with their partner, to send a card to a secret love or give a red rose to their loved one. The cut-flower industry in particular is still working on promotingthe holiday. In Sweden it is called Allahjärtans dag ("All Hearts' Day") and was launched in the 1960s by the flower industry's commercial interests, and due to the influence of American culture. It is not an official holiday, but its celebration is recognized and sales of cosmetics and flowers for this holiday are only exceeded by those for Mother's Day.
In other places like Denmark the flowershave more glamour that never. And it is that, for this day, there have be sent habitually white pressed flowers simulating to be ' drops of snow ' and they submit to the most nearby and dear persons. Also they have slightly nicer customs, since the fact that the men send ' graceful letters ' to the women ado you sign of identity that to put a point for every letter that takes his name. If thewoman in question that receives the letter succeeds whom has been ' his valentín ', he will reward her with an egg of Easter. Curious love letters...
After cautiously warming to the trend, Denmarkhas begun to embrace Valentine's Day traditions. One of the popular Valentine’s Day customs in Denmark is sending of white flowers called ‘Snowdrops’. Also on this day, young couples swap funny little poemsor love notes, known as ‘gaekkebrev’. The sender of a ‘gaekkebrev’ writes a rhyme for his beloved, though he signs the message with dots, not a name. If the recipient guesses the name correctly, she receives an egg at Easter! Various Valentine’s Day events are held, e.g. live concerts and flower displays.
Norway 
In Norway, though Valentine’s Day is not celebrated in a grandeur style, it is animportant date in the social calendar of younger folks. Red hearts symbolize Valentine’s Day and thus, can be seen in the form of balloons, gifts and cards, in shop windows’ displays. People express their love by gifting cards, flowers and chocolates to their sweethearts. Though the concept of giving cards and gifts was introduced only in the late 1980s, it continues till date.

Denmark 
InDenmark, Valentines’ Day is a major attraction among the youth. An interesting custom connected with this day is sending pressed white flowers called Snowdrops to friends. Parties are organized, where food, dancing and music play an integral role. Hotels and clubs make special arrangements for this day. Adventurous couples spend the day in an appealing vacation spot. Gifts include rose bouquets,chocolates, and handmade gift baskets containing wines, cakes, fruits and gourmet foods.
Denmark and Norway celebrate Valentine's Day with a romantic dinner. Some lovers give one single red rose to their loved one, or they send a Valentine card to their secret admirer. Guatemala celebrates this day with their loved ones and with their friends. They exchange gifts to each other, like flowers, jewelry,and Valentine cards. Japanese woman are obligated to give chocolates to male co-workers. Woman in Japan don't receive anything, until the following month March 14. In China, only the men give chocolates to women. Canada, France, Mexico also celebrate the same way the United States celebrate Valentine's Day.
Valentine’s Day in Denmark

Every year Valentine's Day is celebrated on 14th Februarywith extreme joy and verve. People particularly in the age group of 16-30 more actively participate in the festival's celebrations. Thus, Valentine's Day celebrations are considered more youth-centered in Denmark. Its time for loving by giving and receiving love tokens. People generally take off from their busy schedule to celebrate the festival of love with their sweetheart.
