What is Alzheimer?

Is a mental disease that appears as cognitive impairment and behavioral disorders, for that reason iscalled a neurodegenerative disease. As nerve cells die, a progressive loss of memory and other mental abilities start appearing on the patient. It is a physical painless disease, but it provokes an emotional pain that is immense. The average after diagnostic is 7 years for all patients, there are few who live about 10 or 14 years after the diagnostic.
The disease course is divided into four stages,with progressive patterns of cognitive and functional impairments.
• Pre-dementia: These stage starts to affect the patient in all their daily activity, because the patient starts to feel stress. The memory of meanings and concepts start to be confused on the patient’s mind.
• Early: Older memories of the person's life, facts learned, and implicit memory are affected to a lesser degree than newfacts or memories. The language starts to be affected by forgetting the correct usage of vocabulary or grammar rules. The patient will have to be with assistance for activities like dressing, eating and many others that will be forgetting in the process.
• Moderate: By this time the writing and reading will be almost lost, while the speech evidences will become more evidence because the ones whotake care of the patient will have problems to understand their necessities and what they feel.
• Advanced: By this stage, and the last one the patient will have lost or reduce the speech ability to a word or small phrases. They won’t be able to do the most simple tasks without assistance, for example they will lose the ability to feed by their selves.
By this time have passed approximately 7years, there are few who have passed the 10 years or in some rare cases they live 14 years with the disease.


Symptom and causes of the disease

Alzheimer's begins after the age of 65. The memory loss is a symptom, especially forgetting recently learned information, it is a fatal brain disease that causes a slow decline in memory, thinking and reasoning skills. Another symptom is the rapidmood swing, like feel occasionally sad, or like from tears to rage, for no discernible reason.

There are many reasons to develop the disease, one of them is the family history, it means that if someone has had Alzheimer disease means that the descendants have a more probabilities to have the disease, but there are many other reasons. Another reason is to stop using the mind, like stop working ordo nothing. This doesn’t mean that the scientist have found the reason, most of the cases aren’t discovered what cause the disease, approximately only a 1% to 5% are solved of what produce the disease.

How to prevent the disease?

By the time the scientist have discovered that there are many types of things to prevent or reduce the risk of have the disease. The memory games, puzzles, wordgames, playing an instrument, socialize in groups of people, have a pet and many other activities help to reduce the risk of having the disease.

There are other effective ways to prevent it, the use of medicine have shown a good result but those treatments are more expensive, and many people discuss that the ones who create it have experiment with animals to show the results.

There stillstudying to found a cure, they have found positive and negative results, one of the ones who are studying by the time are the consume of vitamins, but it haven’t show any help to prevent or reduce the progress of the disease.

This type of disease make many complications in the patient because they forgot about taking care of themselves, this causes health problems...
