QUALITY CONTROL
Quality Control activities complement those of production control. Quality control management is coordinated with all phases of production controlmanagement to ensure máximum productivity. Properly desinged quality control procedures can esure an aceptable level of quality while reduncing inspection requirements and management efforts. However, qualitycontrol standards mut never be sacrificed to increase production. To ensure complete objetivity, QC personnel are diredtly responsable to the maintenance unit commander.
The major functions andresponsibilities of the quality control element are..
• To establish and maintain a complete technical reference library for assigned aircraft and systems.
• To maintain a technical datafamiliarization chart for all aviation maintenace personnel.
• To inspect the accuracy of equipment recors that DA Pam 738-751 requires to be maintained. This responsibility includes the properuse, preparation, and disposition of those records.
• To ensure dull participation in the quality deficiency report (QDR) program.
• To monitor the application of modification work orders(MWOs).
• To ensure compliance with the Army Oil Analysis Program (AOAP):
• To monitor and maintain the aircraft time-change component Schedule and ensure that production control isgiven adequate notice (100 flight hours for time change, 2 months for calendar change) of upcoming component-change requirements.
• To review and update all shop standart inspectio proceduresfiles to incorporated new inspection techniques and to establish procedures for new equipment.
• To monitor and perform as necessary nondestructive testing (NDT) of aircraft components and airframestructural members. The details and procedures of NDT are in FM 55-414 and TM 55-1500-335-23.
• To establish and maintain calibration schedules for TMDE. (see appendix M).
