It is important to remember the difference between Baroque art in Protestant countries compared with Baroque art in Catholic countries. InCatholic countries (Italy, Spain), life was seen with an intense spiritualism, and in Protestant countries (Dutch and Flemish Schools), wealth and personal success became more important.
