Lesson 1 Greetings
Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening are formal verbal greetings. H¡ and Helio are less formal verbal or written greetings. We use them at any time of day.Goodbye, See you tomorrow, Good night and Good day are used when we say goodbye. Present /Absent
♦ Present and absent are common responses to the roll cali in the classroom.
♦ Another way to say"present" is: Here!
♦ Another way to say "absent" is: He/she is not here. Dates
♦ In English, we write the day like this: Month + Ordinal Number + Year.
For example: May 13h, 2012.
♦ In some countries,especially in the UK, you can write the date like this: Cardinal Number + Month + Year. For example: 13 May, 2012.
♦ When we speak, we say: Month + The + Ordinal Number (+ Year). For example: May the13" (2012) ("two thousand and twelve" or "twenty twelve").
Lesson 2 Instructions
In English, ee use the imperative form to give instructions (oral and written). Imperative forms don't have asubject (the subject ¡s implicit: you). For example: Run!, Listen, Repeat.
♦ Imperative forms can have an object. For example: Cióse the door. Come in. Read the text. Work in pairs.
