The Haunted House

After a couple of minutes I reached the house. As I walked towards the entrance a musty smell got into my nose. When I got there it was exactly as the man in the bus haddescribed it to me. The front yard looked like a forest: overgrown grass where you couldn’t even walk, trees of every kind, but with no leaves. I had to walk several metres to the front door when I enteredthe house the door made a frightening creak that sent goosebump down my spine. I was as scared as a mouse. I thought of sprinting out of that creepy and gothic house, but I needed to finish what Ihad started.
The furniture was weird. Chairs were covered by cobwebs and dust. The tables were broken, some had 3 legs, others 2, some of them did not even have any. Suddenly a golden lightilluminated the gigantic room. The huge chandelier had been turned on. A man appeared at the top of the stairs. He looked around sixty years old, he smiled at me as he went down, and I could see that he wasmissing some teeth and had little hair on his head. He raised his right hand as a sign of greeting and I could see his nails were grown, while on the left hand he had no nails at all.
I didn’t know ifit was my imagination, but the old man disappeared. Because of this my knees began to tremble, and my stomach made some strange sounds.
I went through some large and dark corridors. When Iwalk through them the wooden floor cracked, making me feel that in any moment one of them would broke and I would fall into a deep hole with fire underneath were I would burn in a few seconds.Hopefully I saw a bright light some metres ahead. The corridor was so dark that the light shocked me for a moment. I entered without heasitating to the room and to my satisfaction I found some cookies.When I ate the first one it was like eating a rock and it tasted musty. The second I ate was more like a real cookie. And when I was going to put he third one in my mouth, a sound made my heart stop.
