1. Assess the behavior of both Major Sinclair and Michael Canaris. Which leadership traits does their behavior show?
Major Sinclair –in the scene she is shown to have the drive ,integrity and knowledge to fulfill the task. Michael Canaris-he shows a strong desire to lead, self-confidence and emotional and cognitive ability
2. Does this film sequence show any aspects ofcharismatic and transformational leadership? Draw some examples from the sequence.
When being informed of the danger the city was facing, Major Sinclair was being briefed with the idea of gettingher to act on the situation, without counting the cost, going beyond personal concerns because lives are at stake. She was also being intellectually and emotionally prepared for the tough job andgiven the help that she would need to carry out the task completely.

1. Based on this video, which leadership traits would you say Hewitt displays?
Hewitt is describedhere as a “cold blooded athelete” – strategic, calculating, with a big-heart, analytical, w/ incredible capacity and endurance to bring results, a doer, a non- traditional politician.
2. How doeshaving two distinct leadership roles, mayor and city administrator, create a challenging environment for effective leadership
The former mayor was the passionate and emotional guy kind who tookthings personally. The city administrator is the opposite who thinks of results rather than what he feels. Though the set-up can be stressful for the two, it actually enriches the experience ofthe whole town because they are treated to the best of both worlds of leadership.
3. How would you characterize Hewitt’s leadership style?
His style is one of openly delegating authority topeople who can help him. His subordinates are happy he doesn’t micromanage, he sets out goals and allow people to be department heads in full control of their teams.
