As it is well known listening is very important for the purpose of communicative competence. It is essential to understand what you hear to give an answer orally. Finding goodlistening strategies for students is sometimes difficult. Teachers have to provide students useful listening strategies to reinforce this area.
Regarding the process of create listening test, itwas interesting. Even though we as teachers must know some rules, I realized that some of them were unknown for me. For instance, the way to divide the multiple choice items, so that students do notget confused, or the importance of giving real and attractive context in each of the items.
When talking about the peer assessment it is important to mention that was useful because we do not realizesome mistakes that the other teacher can detect. Besides, other teacher can help us to improve the items of the test. In my case, my partner found some mistakes related to the heading. I also hadforgotten to include the source from where I took the images.
I consider that the fact that we already did a portfolio that included a written test help me a lot to improve my listening tests. Someaspects like spacing, font size, and the size of the images were taken into a count this time.
One of the parts that were really important for me was the process to select the correct rubric fororal tests. In fact, some teachers do not apply oral tests because they do not know how to grade them. The learning process looks for communicative competence that is why it is important to have studentsspeaking English.
Regarding the rubrics, I used a holistic one which includes all the aspects I wanted to evaluate by using intensifiers. On the contrary, my partner created a hybrid rubric andit was interesting to discover how different they were. We agree that the holistic rubric can be more appropriate for second cycle students and the hybrid one fits with first cycle students. This...
