Child obesity occurs when a child is well above the normal weight for his or her age and height (Mayo Clinic). Child obesity is a problem that all countries have, so the implementationof 30 minutes of exercise in the school could reduce this problem; this modification to the law of Health and Education will change the life of children with proper healthy eating habits .
TheCenters for Disease Control reported that child obesity has more than tripled in the past 30 years. Currently, 12.5 million kids ages 2 to 19 are obese. This nutritional disorder has risk factors forcardiovascular disease (CVD), including high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, and abnormal glucose tolerance. This problem even causes social discrimination, low self-esteem, and persistsin to adulthood (Aetna).
Child obesity is a serious problem, but with the implementation of a balance diet daily the problem could be reduce. A proper nutrition could change the future of childrenwho have not received an adequate nutrition education.
The new plan that all the school must accept is based on a French project known as EPODE, which has shown success at reducing childobesity through physical activities, weight monitoring and promoting drinking water and eating fruit and vegetables. Children lose weight much faster than adults then they will begin to lose weight soonafter becoming consistently active
One of the best strategies to reduce child obesity is to improve the diet and exercise habits in the family because this helps to protect the health of manychildren.
