"FIREARMS"
The caliber of a firearm is the diameter of the projectile is fired. This list sets out thegauges in most common handguns.
The stopping power through each munition is the ability of a bullet to shoot down the target of a shooting. Not to be confused with lethality. Because of the many factors involved in this, from the bullet impact to the bulk of white through his psychologicalreaction to being hurt, there is some controversy about the power of arrest.
As a rule, faster and bullet weight (energy) and larger caliber bullet or deformation(larger surface to transmit the impact energy, greater stopping power. The .45 ACP is considered capable of bringing down a gauge of shot any man, and the United States, after some controversy with the capacity of 9mm Luger, this has beenovertaken by thestronger .40 S & W, which is somewhere between the two mentioned above.
Drilling capacity also depends on the speed of the bullet and weight, but is better with fewer gauge, by focusing the energy to get through. For example, the 5.7x28mm (in itspiercing cartridge) is used in military ammunition assault or submachine guns, and is able to pierce a bulletproof vest level 3 due tothe very high rate muzzle exit (over 600 m / s) and pointed, like rifle bullets, which facilitates penetration. However, a .38, .45 .44car or a special (subsonic bullets less than 330 m / s) or a 357 or a 9 to supersonic(350-400 m / s) standard, could not pierce.

Throughout history these have been some of the firearms and calibers who has handled most popular man.
