Grammar Translation Method
It´s one of the most traditional of all methods .It was used to teach dead languages such as latin, by using vocab lists, the mother tongue and sentence translation. The methods focus Is on learning the rules of grammar. Some features that distinguish it are; it makes use of long explanations of grammar, vocabulary is learned through direct translation word by wordand reading in the target language. This method is frequently labeled as being boring due to the discipline it requires, but many teacher implement it with frequency in their classes because it’s very easy to incorporate.
Direct Method
Using pictures and imitation this method´s main purpose Is to translate without the use of grammar . native language is banned in classrooms directed by the directmethod so that the student is forced to use the target language. This method avoids writting until a good vocabulary is caught. Grammar was taught inductively and only everyday vocabulary was taught and this was through images. It dates back to the 19th and 20th century it making it also one of the traditional methods of today. An example of this type of teaching could be employed by the use offlash cards. The teacher select a flash card and says the name of the image in English, so that the learner understand by image and not translation.
Audio Lingual Method
This method is on the behaviorist theory and is somewhat similar to the direct method. One of the difference though is that unlike the the direct method, the audio-lingual method is not focused on vocabulary but more on thesentences, its structure and its grammar. Drills often are often used to practice grammar and most drills are known to be present first by the teacher in the correct way so that the student repeats them the best they can. Just like the direct method grammar is also approached inductively with no precise instruction given to the student. Some activities for this method can be; static drills were thestudent possesses no control over the exercise.

Situational Approach
This method is focused on teaching the four basic skills that are; reading, writing, speaking and understating. Grammar is taught as a natural way and by that its objective is to cause a significant learning. The situational approach is audio lingual and it main objective is to teach the student a correct pronunciation ofwords and sentences. It sees speech as the basis of language and structure as heart of the speaking ability. Other focuses are also; grammatical accuracy, quick response and control over the structure of the sentences.
Total Physical Response
Through physical activity this type of teaching method tries to get the student to learn the target language without stressing him or her .This can be byeither songs, roleplays, games and a vast variety of other activities that evoke physical movement. This is ideal for kinesthetic learners because of the activities implemented in the classroom. Total Physical Response can also be imitation of the commands being given in the target language. By doing do the learner has a clear example of what the command means without having to translate.Suggestopedia
Suggestopedia is the science dedicated to non-rational or non-conscious influences. It works in an inductive way just like the Direct Method too and makes use of music for the classroom as well. This approach was based on the power of suggestion in learning, being that positive suggestion would make the learner more receptive and stimulate them to learn. Lozanov holds that a relaxed butfocused state is the optimum state for learning. In order to create this relaxed state in the learner and to promote positive suggestion, suggestopedia makes use of music, a comfortable and relaxing environment which becomes central to this approach. Unlike other methods and approaches, there is no apparent theory of language in suggestopedia and no obvious order in which items of language are...
