The Kumiai or kimiai, they call themselves ti'pai. Their communities are located in the coastal plains are divided into three territorial areas: the SanJose de la Zorra, municipality of Ensenada, and Neji and the Alamo, municipality of Tecate. His language is known as kami, or kémiai kmuyai.

Sus comunidades se ubican en las mesetas costeras y están distribuidas en tres áreas territoriales: los de San José de la Zorra, municipio deEnsenada, y los de Neji y el Álamo, municipio de Tecate. Su lengua también es conocida como kamia, kmuyai o kemiaia.
En el censo del año 2000 se reportaron161 hablantes de esta lengua, la mayoría en Baja California.
