the city and the dogs is a Hispanic-American, winning work to prize Nobel of literature 2010, written by Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa. This novel is considered the work that I emphasize maturity of Vargas Llosa in literature, received many other awards. This work has been praised by several outstanding writers; such is the magnitude of this one, which in 1985 was created a filmadaptation directed by Francisco José Lombardi. It is for this reason that in this essay will talk about the particular characteristics which presents the work, and on the other hand, his eponymous. Is worth mentioning that a novel of this size turns out to be very complex to take it completely (to say complete I mean space, time, symbols, etc.) to the big screen. There are several people who spent acouple of hours to watch the movie or others who devoted a couple of whole afternoons in devouring reading, but are scarce the bliss of having a Visual represented version... and, at the same time, be the product of a journey into the world of Latin American literature. To open the topic, you start with the comparison of the beginnings of both cases. Filmographic tape shows the sound of the chimesof drums, the same that appears in the expulsion of Cava and that, in a certain way, produces a disturbing feeling. You can also see the front view of the Lima military school reflected by the light of the moon on a dark night, using this as an introduction to the cadets: Alberto Fernández "The poet" and Ricardo Arana "Slave". 1
