Q: To put it simply for our readers, what exactly is the New Deal?
A: The New Deal is a series of economic programs specifically designed to restore America to its full potential. Essentially, theNew Deal consists of three basic principles: Relief, Recovery and Reform. It is my goal, during my presidency to provide relief for the unemployed and impoverished as well as recovering the Americaneconomy to normal levels and reforming our financials systems to ensure we do not ever have to relive another depression again.
Q: You seem confident that you will be able to restore the Americaneconomy. What are your specific plans for such a goal?
A: Firstly, I am closing all the banks in the country until I can pass legislation that will allow government involvement in the economy. Then, Iplan to implement a policy I call the Emergency Banking Act, which I had drafted by Hoovers top advisors. The Emergency Banking Act will allow all closed banks to reopen under a Treasury system, and tobe provided with government loans, if needed. After this, we hope that banks in the Federal Reserve will reopen and the money that citizens have been withholding from banks during the depression willbe deposited in the banks because of the insured stability. To manage deflation, I am taking the economy off the gold standard. Then after the economy shows some stability, I am considering a programthat will balance the regular federal budget; I must show the country I am capable of being fiscally conservative. I am also planning on proposing an increase in taxes to regulate wealth: thisincludes an increase to inheritance tax and a graduated and corporate income tax.
Q: What about individuals? How do you plan on providing jobs for individual men and decreasing the unemployment rate?
A: Ihave very specific ideas on how to decrease the unemployment rate. I call them Alphabet Agencies. Mainly, Alphabet Agencies will be created for the sole purpose of providing jobs for the people. I...
