North Dakota

North Dakota is located west of Minnesota, North of South Dakota, East of Montana, and south of the Canadian border. The capital of North Dakota is Bismark and islocated in the center of the state. The population of North Dakota is estimated at about 646,864. North Dakota is about 2000 square miles and roughly about 2000 people live in onesquare mile. This state became part of the American union on November 2, 1889.
North Dakota is one of the largest contributors of agricultural products to all of the UnitedStates. Many different types of crops are grown throughout North Dakota. The most common type of crops include; corn, sun flowers, wheat, sugar beets, and soy beans. This industrygreatly contributes to the state’s Gross Domestic Product or GDP of 5.4 billion dollars per year.
North Dakota also has a great sense of community sports. Every year before the fallcommunities from different counties play against each other in all kinds of sports. The most popular sport would have to be baseball.
Most outdoor sports are done before the month ofNovember. During November North Dakota starts to transition into its winter phase. The first blizzards will cover the ground with a few inches of snow overnight. By mid-DecemberNorth Dakota would have received about three feet of snow and even four and a half feet of snow towards the northern region of the state. The snow does not start to melt until lateApril. Before the winter the state also has heavy rainfalls that flood the Red River of the North. This usually causes evacuations of cities near the Red River. From May toSeptember the weather is usually ideal for any activity. It is never too hot or too cold during these moths. However, during the months of November-April temperatures could reach -45°F.
