Pasado Simple - (Simple Past Tense)

El Pasado Simple es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para describir acciones que han sucedido en un tiempo anterior y que ya han finalizado, por ejemplo:
SimplePast tense is used to describe actions that have happened at an earlier time and have already done, for example:
She cleaned her house. Ella limpió su casa.
I broke the window. Yo rompí la ventana.Estructure
1. Affirmative Sentences:
* Ejemplos:
* I wanted to dance. (Quería bailar.)
* She was a doctor. (Era doctora.)
* They learned English. (Aprendieroninglés.)
* We believed him. (Le creímos.)

Subject + principal verb.
2. Negative Sentences
* Ejemplos:
* I didn't want to dance. (No quería bailar.)
* She wasn't adoctor. (No era doctora.)
* They didn't learn English. (No aprendieron inglés)
* We didn't believe him. (No le creímos.)

Subject + vauxiliary verb ("to do") + "not" + principal verb.Nota: Como en frases negativas, el verbo auxiliar va en el pasado ("did") el verbo principal se queda en el infinitivo.

3. Interrogative Sentences
* Ejemplos:
* Did you want to dance? (¿Querías bailar?)
* Was she a doctor? (¿Era doctora?)

Auxiliary verb ("to do") + subject + Principal Verb + ?

Al expresar una oración en Pasado Simple se entiendeque la acción no guarda relación con el presente, como vemos en los siguientes casos:
He lost the keys. Él perdió las llaves.

She lent me a book. Ella me prestó un libro.
