★ INTRODUCTION
For the seek of this case study we have chosen Sirkan, a veterinary clinic located in Madrid, Spain. It was founded by Pablo Martín-Roldán and María Rosa Martín-Roldán in 1993. These two veterinarian brothers started the business on their own and continue running itsuccessfully nowadays.
We selected these entrepreneurs because it is a good example of how two students can start their own business and manage it in a profitable way that allows them to live comfortably working on their passion, something difficult these days. We also drew attention to the fact that, although most people may think entrepreneurs always want to build huge international corporations, thereare not few others who prefer to reach a level of success that enables them to live loosely without pretending to have a massive fortune.
To carry out this project we first interviewed both of them as they are both equally responsible of starting and managing the business and after we prepare a report with all the major information we obtained during the time we spent with them and a resume ofthe business model. Following that, we developed an analysis over time of the quality of the idea, strategic potential of the business and some expectations for the near future.

They studied veterinary medicine at Universidad Complutensede Madrid and then worked as interns with Dr. José Luís Puchol, one of the best veterinarians in Spain specialized in trauma surgery with a huge clinic in Madrid. At that moment they decided to start a clinic together.
Since Maria Rosa was 5 years older than Pablo and finished college earlier, she started working on different things, substitutions, pet shops, clinical analysis, caninehairdressers, etc, to acquire training and experience while giving time for Pablo to finish his degree.
In May 1993 Pablo finally graduated from college and they started developing the idea of starting their new business. They spent about 6 months looking for possible locations of the clinic, for which they used different criteria. First, the list of small animal clinics provided by AMVAC (MadridAssociation of Veterinarians for pets in its Spanish acronyms) helped them to locate some neighborhoods in which there was not a huge offer of these kind of services. Second, they took into account some studies showing that despite we could think higher income families tend to have more pets, the average number will be around one or two for detached houses. If we think of a building that occupies the same...
