THE BAD NUTRITION ON CHILDREN
Proper nutrition allows children to have stronger immune systems, experience less illness, learn better andbecome more productive members of society, reports the World Health Organization. When children are provided with a diet that is nutritionally bad, they can experience many related health problems thatcan affect them throughout their life. Bad nutrition can be caused by a lack of food or regularly consuming a diet that is made up of primarily unhealthy foods and foods that are nutritionallydeficient.
Future Heart Disease

When children are supplied with a diet that contains trans fat, their risk of developing future heart disease increases. According to the University of Maryland MedicalCenter, children who begin eating foods that are high in trans fats will be more at risk for heart disease in adulthood, and by the time they are 8, 9 or 10 years old they may be experiencing highcholesterol and some clogging of the arteries.

Caregivers should help to limit the intake of trans fats in children's diets. Trans fats are made to help preserve food and can be found in fast foods,donuts, muffins, crackers, sweets and a variety of other pre-made and processed foods.

Stunted Growth

When children are not provided with adequate nutrition, either through too little food or too little nutritious food, their growth can be stunted because theirbody does not have enough of the necessary vitamins and minerals to supply their rapidly developing bodies. The WHO reports that when a child's growth is stunted his brain development also slows,making it harder for the child to learn. The number of children worldwide that experience stunted growth is around 178 million and this is a result of poor nutrition or disease, according to the WHO....
