El perro y su sombra.
Un día un perro se dirigía hacia su casa sujetando fuertemente con los dientes un gran trozo de carne. Como que tenía que atravesar un arroyo que fluía rápidamente,pasó por encima de un tronco de árbol que hacía de puente. Cuando era a mitad del tronco, miró el agua y vio otro perro que llevaba otro trozo de carne
—Mmmm, me gustaría comerme también estetrozo -dijo el perro en voz baja.
Sin pensárselo ni un momento, abrió la boca y atacó su rival. Pero la codicia del pobre perro no se vio recompensada: lo que había visto era él mismo reflejado alagua, y la corriente del arroyo había arrastrado, la carne que él había dejado caer.
—Hace tan solo unos minutos tenía carne suficiente para más de un día, y ahora no tengo nada -se dijo elperro, y se fue en busca de comida, de nuevo.
esto significa, que la codicia nunca trae nada bueno, por querer tener más de lo que uno tiene, uno no cuida, ni valora lo que ya le pertenece, yal final, se queda sin nada.
The dog and the shadow.
