1984 Written Task Ib

28th of March of 1984
Beloved diary,
Today I realized the need to communicate with Winston, to have a first contact between us; Because escaping every now and again from my cubicle to go and peakthrough his window, is not anymore satisfying or enough for my curious and strong heart. Whatever my feelings are for him, I need to discover how strong they are. So far my mind goes daydreaming abouthim and me, and how we could affiliate our minds and bodies against Big brother and to enjoy a love so passionate as they used to do. Love is the biggest of all rebellions against the party. No doubt,that sex with Winston would not be just an act of procrastination, but of feelings, of enjoying our bodies, while secretly conspiring against the party and laughing at the authorities faces.
I can’twait for that moment to arrive. I finally have a reason for my being; all my frustration and hatred have converted into something magical deep inside of me. I don’t want to stop breathing in Oceania,I feel as younger and stronger than ever. However, how can I start grabbing Winston’s attention towards me? What could I do to impress him? What type of girl must he like, pragmatic or idealistic? …Dear dairy, I have to many questions and no answers. Everything is uncertain except one thing, I need to do something, and I need some answers, for good or for bad.13th of April of 1984
Diary,
I think today I managed to get Winston’s his eyes on me! Everything took place during the two minutes of hate, where I filled myselfwith courage and stood up behind Winston like a heroin. I began shouting ‘‘swine!’’ towards the screen. However, the climax of the event came when I got into a state of frenzy and decided to fling aNewspeak dictionary, right into the screen hitting Goldstein’s nose. I was amazed at the marksmanship I have! Specifically the point was, that Winston amazingly started shouting with the crowd as well...
