The present work took as a purpose the knowledge of the characteristics of the education in The Amazon during the first half of the 20th century, for constituting the traffic of thetraditionalism towards the contemporary thing as reflection of the social changes of that one at the time.
For its accomplishment it was had as aims:
To know the characteristics of the education inThe Amazon of the first half of the 20th century To know the principal problems of the education in The Amazon among 1900 and 1950.
For the record of the information proceeding from the historicaldocuments one was employed with formats standardized according to the procedure ISAD (G), Procedure of Documentary Description, nowadays used at the historical files. For the oral information provided bysome former settlers, teachers, etc., cards of summary were used. With the obtained information it passed to the hermeneutic and heuristic own(proper) analysis of the historical works.
Knowingthat in Peru the education, it has been and is a reflection of the socio-economic characteristics and policies of the condition across his existence, it was investigated on the educational processesrealized in The Amazon during the first fifty years of the 20th century, with the purpose of knowing his particularities, principal problems and the influence of the educational policies passed by thegovernments of that epoch.
On having analyzed the information, it was possible to know that the education in The Amazon was a reflection of the national situation in traditionalism, economiclimitations, social prejudices, centralization, etc. Up to ends of the first half of the 20th century the college " San Juan de la Libertad" located in Chachapoyas's city was the only secondary center ofeducation in the department. Later, there will add the Virgin college Asunta, dedicated to the feminine education, symbol that the educational international panorama was betting for the misses' formation...
